Updates!

Hello everyone!
So I have been 100% out of touch with the blog since ohh about June. I thought I would contribute to the updating. I unlike Lucci am really working in real estate. As it turns out Gainesville, FL is not the hot spot for new jobs and I stumbled into a Marketing/ Sales Consultant position for a New Home Developer. I don't really do to much as the housing market isn't quite booming, so I read a lot of books, watch a lot of shows online and search for a lot of new recipes at work. I too like Andrea come home and drink a bottle of wine at night while Dan does homework, I though do not have a shiny something catching my eye as I lift my hand to take another sip. We are taking things slow for now and figuring out where we want to be in life and where we want to move after he is done with school in August. Current cities in consideration, Jacksonville, Charleston, Albany, Gainesville, Austin, Denver...and the list goes on. So clearly we have no clue what we are doing! We got a puppy, Rookie, who in my opinion is the cutest damn dog to walk to face of the earth. Others beg to differ and say he is the 2nd cutest next to their own pooch, but I stand firm in my beliefs! He was a handful at first, but he is finally getting the idea of what a house trained puppy should be doing. He still doesn't understand that my ballet flats are surprisingly NOT chew toys, but when all 3.4 pounds of him bounds out of the bedroom with a shoe half his size in his mouth and he has that "I'm on top of the world" spring in his step, it's hard not to laugh and actually say no! He is my baby, and I love him to death which has caused Dan to question my loyalty but overall we are a happy little home. So to close, as it starts to get cold up there and the wind starts blowing, consider coming to visit me! It's warm and sunny here :-). Please keep the updates, I have countless hours of free time at work and this is a good way to pass the time! I hope everyone is doing well, and I'm not sure the next time I'll be out that way, but I'll be sure to make it known! (P.S. sorry for the rumors that spread that I'd be making an appearance at homecoming. It was planned, then my parents house flooded during the hurricane in Houston and I took my time off to head out there and provide moral support.)

I miss everyone!

hello my loves!

i'm still here in stillwater for another year and half...i'm taking forever to graduate and i feel old since my "age" friends are gone. I've been too busy and i now a supernanny as the families calls me now. and i'm loving to be with the kids as much as can. so i'm always in class and then babysitting. so i'm living Bennett and its so sweet. You can watch a baseball game right in my window so i love it. so everyday they have practice at 4:30 so i'll be standing there and watching them sweat but then i got tired of it. i have ful-sized bed so you all are welcome to stay with me. i'm next door to the football games so i'm loving it.
my mama is not doing good right now and she have a cognestive heart failure so she's gonna to have a surgey to put in a peacmaker in next month. so my sister and i had been taking turns to drive home to be with her as much as we can. so this weekend my sister is with her and i'll be home next weekend. so if you would send prayers for my mama, i'm greatly appreciated and hopefully the surgey will be good for her and its hard for me to deal with everything here in stillwater and my closest family is back in kansas so i talk to the family alot on the phone to keep the updates of my mama.
so hopefully i'll see you guys for homecoming and its gonna a good reunion for sure. have a great week.
much loves,
Ashton Darling

Homecoming 2008

Hello Beautiful Pledge Sisters!

I know many of us are attending Walk Arounds in a couple weeks, and I know we're all so excited to be reunited and relive our glory days! I think we should meet on Friday to meet at the Chi O house to make sure we all see each other. Here's the plan - meet at 9:30 at the Chi O for a pledge class pic and then head to the strip to party!

Love. Love. Love you all.

I'm in real estate...?

So I'm not REALLY in real estate, but kind of. I just got a job with Keller Williams as the "Morning Call-coordinator". They spent the last 20 minutes of my interview trying to talk me out of my masters and into joining the real estate community. I'm thinking I'll stick with psychology though. :)

Besides that I'm loving my masters program. If you all don't remember I'm in Norman getting my masters in Community Counseling. I'm a real Counselor.... that's right, I'm actually influencing peoples lives. It's pretty scary. I have my very first client this week, who when I called her said, "Oh, so you're my new counselor?". I almost peed my pants hearing her call me that. It's so exciting though. This whole growing up thing is starting to become a reality.

I'm also trying to adjust to the lack of friends and my boyfriend, and to the fact that I live in Norman. It's not the best place for a recent OSU grad, haha. The program itself is amazing but the sooner madness is a bit wearing. I went to an overflow thing tonight and the first thing the pastor said was "Boomer", and every time I go out of town my roommates bring some new OU thing into our house. I currently have a red upside down longhorn skull in front of my fireplace... classy, huh?

I need to throw this out there real quick... GO POKES! That felt good, I hardly get to say that anymore. :)

I hope you all are doing well. I miss you and love you so much!

They call me Ms. Grapengater.

So I started teaching little kindergarten babies on Tuesday and it has been a long (but also quick!) 4 days. It is so tiring since they do not even know how to walk in a line, sit on the carpet, flush the toilet, hold a pencil, etc. etc. But with every challenge that hits me in the day, I am reassured that this is what I am supposed to be doing. I love, love, love it!

I have a hilarious story for you all, though. First of all, kindergartners believe everything. So I put an owl beanie babie on top of my white board and told them that her name is Ethel and she watches everything that they do and at the end of the day she comes down to my desk after school and tells me who was following instructions, who was tattling, etc. Also, at my school you can page other teachers classrooms through their intercom system so I told all the other teachers to page my classroom and say they are Ethel sometimes. I have a projector on my ceiling and I told them her voice comes out of it. Well on Thursday had to go to the bathroom, which is in my classroom. So I told my students that Ethel was watching them and would tell me what happened when I came out of the bathroom. Well, perfect timing because as I was going to the bathroom I heard the office paging my room telling me a little girl was leaving early. I hurry out of the bathroom and when I come out the entire class is staring at the projector on the ceiling and they were dead quiet. I could hardly contain my laughter and this little girl says (in a quiet, almost scared voice), "Ms. Grapengater, Ethel just said that Brooke needs to go home." Then all the kids were like how did she know you were in the bathroom? How did that happen? And my response was, Ethel is always watching, she knows what is going on so you need to be careful.

Bahahahaha it was priceless. So just so you know- I think of each one of you everyday when I see Ethel sitting up on my whiteboard. Miss you, love you, come to Dallas and visit asap.

I'm an old married woman!! :)

Hello lovely ladies!

Three weeks into the marriage and we are already an old boring couple... Saturday night consisted of me drinking a bottle of wine (yes the cheap stuff all by myself) while reading a cook book and Greg played video games of some sort with his friends. We are boring but it is so much fun!

The wedding and honeymoon were both perfect. For those of you who got to come, you can vouch on how hot the reception was.... sorry about that, Oklahoma in August during the middle of the day is never good. Beleive me, I was feeling it too in my dress. I know everyone was super busy and starting your grown up life right about that time, but you can still check out pictures.

They are available for you to see at

The password is Brown

So Greg and I are just hanging out in Stillwater for one more year. I am loving grad school and being able to come home at night and not have 10 million meetings to go to. I get to see Krista everyday since we work in the same office now. I am the GA for Leadership Development, basically I run copies and chat with PLC and campus life people all day. It is fun and it makes me feel like I am still involved with stuff without the commitment. I also just accepted a job from Grant Thornton, the accounting firm I have interned for the past two summers. I guess that means in August of next year I will officially have to be a grown up and start Auditing people. Considering that it looks like we will be somewhere around OKC depending on where Greg gets into law school.

That's all of the update for now. If anyone is back in Stillwater and needs a couch to sleep on we have an adorable reclining loveseat that has your name on it!

Love you girls!

Andrea Brown :)

I'm a.... banker?

First, I miss all of you terribly!

Second - the update. I have been working in Tulsa since June 16 at the BOK Tower. Working isn't actually correct, I've been in the BOKF training program for eventual commercial lenders. Although I knew this was the purpose of the training program, I am just now figuring out what it means, and I honestly really like it! In a nutshell, I will be a Credit Analyst whose job is to help that actual Lender put together a company profile in order to get a loan approved. This entails company background, industry, and financial analysis as well as an understanding of the management, loan terms, and its inherent risks. Maybe not the dream job for everyone (okay, it isn't even what I was expecting to do) but I like learning of new companies and their role in the economy, along with meeting their management. Right now I am researching a funeral home operation - kind of creepy, but very interesting! After about two years I will graduate to a Commercial Lender :)

Ok, so I don't really know why my title in life is yet.. Sometimes I think it would be nice t0 be a Student again, even a Pledge (okay, maybe not) but I refuse to adopt the name Banker - visions of old men that never smile come to mind. It is my career, though, so I have come to the decision that I will bring some changes - Yes, I will be fashionable and my color palette will extend beyond black, gray, and white (Dunham, your help will be needed). Yes, I will leave the elevator last if I am in the back even if I am the only woman on it (honestly, the guys are not being chivalrous, just annoying). These are the two I am working on right now.

Other than work, I have been trying to adjust to the absence of my friends and boyfriend :( Pistol is good company, though, and he also missed each of you. We are both patiently awaiting our departure to Houston - November 6 - and we are very excited about being close to Erin, Drymon, and Jeffrey :) Don't get too presumptuous, though, Jeff and I are going to be taking all of these adjustments one step at a time. In the meantime, I hope to keep up with all of your fascinating lives and I wish all of you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Love you all, Audrey

super senior- doot do-doot!

hey loves of my life--

bonbon wants an update and though I'm not that exciting on love of boys or jobs, I'll follow suit.

I'm living in the dorms again. it's weird. but I have some nice neighbors and I'll get to know personally my ggg's. how strange, right?

oh well I've never wanted a ton of kids but big families seem to have so much fun- here's my chance to be a matriarch of a crowd of chio's :)

I am 85% decided on starting my own women's ready-to-wear line when I graduate. I was going to try to start for this spring but after some consideration and some advice from my own matriarch I'm thinking after graduation I'll have the time and energy and focus to go out with a bang, and you know how I like to do things up big- well. it wont be that big at first. but we'll get there! :)

I already have ideas for the website, promo code "owl" will get 20% off! "hootie04" will get wholesale cost-will you wear my stuff then? it'll look amazing on I promise! and PLEASE PLEASE send me your ideas of the perfect whatever's.. I'm pretty set on a pair of pants that's HAPPENING fall 09- but you girls are beautiful and incredibly stylish and I want you're approval.

I love you all to the star and back-- so when you all get a chance to hang a bit in stillwater, call me!

All Grown Up

Let's all update each other on what we are doing now:
I will start.

I moved to San Francisco and I work in a law firm (California's sixth largest) as their cute little receptionist. I am currently looking for an apartment but you would not believe how much rent is. For a studio apartment I am going to pay around $1300... A MONTH! Which might lead you to believe that I no longer eat or drive my car but this would be false. I still manage to afford to do both - I have a 45 minute commute to and from work. Other than work, I try to go to church and meet people which has yet to result in any friends - but I'm sure it will soon! Speaking of which, please come visit me!

Beautiful Pledge Sisters,

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer! I miss you all so much.

Honest to Blog?

Hey pledge sisters. I love you.

so... since we have this blog... we all have a common email... correct?

ere go- theoretically.. if all of us who have "smart phones" ie, blackberry, iPhone, anything else where you can program your email into it... how fun would it be to get funny quotes, and jokes and hey i love you's randomly in your work day? I was just talking to lucc on the phone, asking her rhetorical questions, like, how much would you appreciate Prabs sending you a funny story? and of course, she didnt have to respond. I knew the answer was, gee whiz that would be fantastic!

I know right?

haha. I never say I know right. is it an LA thing? like from the Hills? I feel more LA-y when I say it.

whatev.

okay so here's another funny video because it's too late to hangout with my new LA friends. because they work. and I work less than them.

Panda smashmortion- hilarious.

love you.

Missing you.

So I'm currently sitting on a bench at campus corner in Norman, really sad that I'm moving here.

This is how pathetic I am, I cried when I got into Norman city limits today.

Anyway, I'm about to go see my house for the summer. You all should come see me! I'm living on Lindsey and Flood, and I'm going to be bored out of my mind... so come keep me company!

I love you all, and I miss you all so much already!

4 years flew by

My wonderful pledge sisters....
I cannot believe these four years have already happened. I truly feel like its still Bid Day 2004 and we are not old enough to begin a new chapter in our lives. This last chapter has been so amazing, more than I could have ever wished for. I always knew I was going to meet amazing people in college, but ladies you are more than amazing. Each one of you has affected me in some way or another and all of you have made me who I am today. And well as of today, my labels have completely changed... I am now an Oklahoma State Alum as well as a Chi Omega Alum. And who knows if I could be saying that without you ladies in my life. I hope that we can continue to motivate and push each other to accomplish great things in life. Wherever life may take us. Its weird this feeling of crossing the finish line, I don't want to grow up cause the times I've shared lately have been so incredible. Ok I feel like I'm resembling a drone and just continuing on a single monotone point.
Ok so next year I will be in Oklahoma City (Edmond, really) at the OU HSC and I'll have three years of Occupational Therapy school before I'll start a new chapter in life. I couldn't be more excited to pursue a profession that intrigues me fully. Right now my email is aubree.henton@gmail.com and once I get my OUHSC email I'll post it.
So Congratulations to all those who walked and received your diplomas (well right now its just the cover with a picture of theta pond) today and best of luck in the future, keep in touch. And to those who will be graduating in December or next spring keep on truckin' you are almost done, and let us know when your day is so we can all celebrate your wonderful accomplishment!
Love in Dr.Charles Richardson,
Aubree

The 5 Founders

To the loves of my life:

After awhile you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept
your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine
burns if you get too much so you plant your
own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...
Veronica A. Shoffstall © Copyright 1971

I remember reading the symphony for the first time during rush and immediately falling in love. I remember discussing it with Haley King, hoping that one day I could live up to the challenge. I don't remember where I found this quote from veronica shoffstall, but it had just about the same effect on me as the symphony did on house tour day, 2004.

I want to thank you all, for the 4 best years of my life. They said college would be the best time of our lives and as much as I hope it only gets better, I don't see how it could.

So when things aren't perfect, and you don't feel like being womanly always, when terrible things happen, when wonderful things happen, when small things work out, when big things work out.. as this roller coaster life continues, I will send you flowers, even if I have to pick a dandelion from the ground and over night it. I will kiss you. multiple times. on the mouth. yeah I said it. Ask lucci, sutton, or heather about that one. I will hold your hand, and don't worry, our souls are totally chained. so with that:

I will always always always love you. (consider candle ritualistically sniffled out....Now)

From Andrea

Hey girls!

So I made a big step today, I made an email address with my new last name which I guess will be my permanent email address.... although exciting, it is crazy to think about. So my new email will be brown.andread@gmail.com.

So for future plans... As everyone knows Greg and I are getting married August 2nd. I would love for all of you to be there if possible, but I realize our pledge class is full of go getters who are moving all over to be successful ladies, so just send me your love if you can't come. All of you will still be getting the annoying facebook message requesting an address for June, or if you want to put it on here that would be great to. After the wedding we are going to Sin City for a week for our honeymoon (Las Vegas) and then we will be back in Stillwater. I will be finishing my MS in Accounting in May of 09 and Greg will finish up his degree in December of 08. In a nut shell we are going to be a really poor married couple! :) After that I am hoping Greg picks a law school close to some of you so that I can hang out with you again.

Enough about that.... I want you all to know that I love all of you girls dearly. Whether you realize it or not you have made an impact on my life and will always have a place in my heart. You are the most amazing group of girls that I have ever been surrounded by.

P.S. I love this blog and I will definitely be posting on here a lot and checking it now to procrastinate from studying!

Love!
Andrea

The Speeches!

Yes Heather, you were definitely sappy but I loved every minute of it!  Plus, for those of you who may not recall every moment, I captured Heather's and Laura's speeches on video and have posted it for your viewing pleasure :).  Even with all of the chaos, notice all the love!

PS-I know I've been a little post crazy - hope no one minds!

Audrey

Yes..I know I'm Sappy...

First of all, just let me start out by saying...I am so sorry that I was a big sap at the senior party pre-party...I am soooo embarrassed. Forgive me. haha.

Anyway, I know I have been pretty MIA this semester with student teaching, but I just want you to know that I love you all so very much! I don't think I realized how much, until last August when I was a Gamma Chi...it was so hard not to tell everyone that I was a Chi-O because I heard such wonderful things about my beautiful sisters. I mean..I knew I loved you..but that is when I learned that I couldn't live without you all! ;) (Sappy..I am aware..but aren't you used to it by now??) Anyway, I am not for sure where I will be next year..either at home in Bartlesville..teaching at my old elementary school..or I will be somewhere in Tulsa teaching. I have an interview this Friday..so I will keep you updated...

And just to calm any rumors...I do not think that I will be having a candlelight before we graduate...sorry for those of you who may think I am :) But probably sometime this summer you will be hearing of an engagement..:) I will let you know..I promise! Alright..well I have rambled long enough..but I love you all and I know that God will continue to bless each and every one of you! You are always in my prayers! Love you all so so much and if you are in the Tulsa area..give me a call!! (hmarie.ruckman@sbcglobal.net)

XOXO,
Heather Marie

Hi Everyone!

Hey girls!
Okay first off I love this thing, although I'm not hip with technology so I don't know how to add photos and really don't know how to add slide shows, but I'll still try to contribute! I have had so much fun with everyone lately and I wish that we could all hang out all the time. My after graduation plans are moving to Gainesville, FL. No, it is not the beach...it is actually as far from the beach as you can get in Florida (An hour and a half so its not awful). My boyfriend Dan is down there and has a year left of grad school, so I'll be hanging out and working for a year then who knows where I'll be. We have a two bedroom house for next year and the office will have a pull out couch so please come visit!! I'm sad to say I'll be out of Oklahoma right after graduation and in Houston for a week and a half then moving to Florida on the 16th of May. AHHHH! So that's the plan for right now, I look forward to reading what everyone else has to say!

Love everyone!

Pictures of our pledge class throughout the years tried to focus on group pics but there are some singles couldn't resist. Also, my computer crashed after freshman year so my pics start at soph. Thought you guys would enjoy! Love you- Audrey

From Audrey!

Hello wonderful pledge sisters!  Thank you to all who attended the senior pre-party - there was hardly anything to clean up (well, except for the floor which sources say can be linked to Dunham...) and thanks to everyone that helped! By the way, I don't think the boys won a single game of flip cup...

I can't believe that we only have 2 weeks of college left, but I am so excited for everyone's futures. As for me, Pistol and I will be in Tulsa for training until November, then Houston with the Bank of Texas. Eventually, I will be a commercial lending officer so if ever need a business loan just holla! :) My new email is audreystake@gmail.com.  Jeff will also be in Houston with Marathon Oil - but don't freak out, no near future nuptials.  I suffer minor panic attacks when I think about life after college so we will take it one step at a time!

Lucci-thank for the blog.  I love that we can still be connected and we are so lucky to have the support of 45 (give or take) intelligent, beautiful, successful women.  College would not have been the same, or near as fun, without all of you!  And I take comfort in the fact that I really won't be going off into the future on my own.

lovies...

I'm not sure where I'll be next semester... but I'll let you all know ASAP. basically if Heidi Merrick loves me and offers me a paid position, I'll be making friends with Lauren Conrad and hanging out with Jennie. who will also be in LA.

otherwise one of two things will happen:
I will stay in stilly until december and either live at home in Tulsa spring semester or say screw it and get a job in LA to finish my crap at FIDM. bleh.

ANYWHO.

i love you all. and might I add a ditto to lucci's post.

My Loves!

Friends! I love this...I now have a replacement for facebook to distract me from everything I am supposed to be doing. I am bored at work, which happens quite often, so you will be reading about my life a lot. I will be in Stillwater this year, and I am sure my living quarters will allow for a multitude of interesting stories. My e-mail is staying the same (kbennit@okstate.edu). Please feel free to use that as much as possible. Also...sign your posts because I have no clue who said party pants since we're all on the same e-mail account.

Loves you!

This is neato skeeto!

This was a great idea, I just want to say everyone get their party pants on for tonight!!!

Miss you all!!!

This was a wonderful idea Lucci!!! I've never actually "blogged" before, but I kind of like it! Ok, so I can't make it to Senior Party tonight because I have a bachelorette party in Dallas to go to :( I know you guys will have a blast though and I cannot wait to see some of you during finals week. We must plan some type of get together/ dinner for that week. I hope everyone is doing well and know that I miss you all very much! Tulsa sucks compared to Stilly haha love you guys!!!

A note from Melanie...

Hey all! I am so glad that Lucci made this. It is a perfect way to waste a bunch of time instead of studying! (JK) It will help us all stay in touch!

I would like to know where all of you are going and what you are doing. So will everyone who gets on here say 1)what and where they'll be next year and 2) e-mail address? I don't know my new e-mail yet, but I am going to med school in Grand Forks, ND and I will post my new e-mail address when I get it.

I had have had so much fun with you all the last week, and of course over the last 4 years. We have all grown up so much!! I will miss you all!

Much love,
Melanie M.
